Deputy Commissioner Sh. Himanshu Jain Launches ‘Project Arth Kranti’ to Promote Financial Literacy Among Government School Students
Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, Sh. Himanshu Jain, today launched Project Arth Kranti – District Financial Literacy Programme, aimed at strengthening financial literacy among Government School students across the district.
The initiative will also provide college and university students with structured internship opportunities. Selected interns will receive expert training and subsequently conduct interactive financial literacy sessions in Government Schools.
Speaking at the launch, Deputy Commissioner Sh. Himanshu Jain stated that financial literacy is an essential life skill. He emphasized that early awareness regarding budgeting, savings, banking, digital payments, cyber safety, financial planning, government schemes and responsible financial behaviour will help students make informed financial decisions.
The programme will be implemented in phases. In the first phase, nearly **50,000 Government School students** will be covered, following which it will be expanded across Ludhiana district.
The launch was attended by Dr. Pankaj Jain, Director, Career Resource Centre, CT University; Mr. Gurdeep Singh, Lead District Manager, Ludhiana; Sh. Ambar Bandopadhyay, Head, Governance Cell, Ludhiana; and Governance Cell members Ms. Gurmehar Kaur, Mr. Udayvir Singh, Mr. Udbhav Goyal and Ms. Bhawna Gahlot.
CT University announced its participation by nominating student interns, while the Lead Bank Office assured comprehensive training support through financial experts and master trainers. The Governance Cell has coordinated the programme in collaboration with educational institutions and banking partners.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to colleges and universities across Ludhiana to encourage students to register and contribute to this district-level financial literacy initiative.
