Baghel–Dewan Meeting Underscores Unity, Vows Landslide Congress Victory Under Warring’s Leadership
Former Punjab Congress General Secretary and former Chairman of the Punjab Large Industrial Development Board, Pawan Dewan, today felicitated Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, recently reappointed as Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief by the AICC at the Punjab Congress Bhawan, here today. Dewan presented a bouquet along with a striking portrait of Warring that symbolically resembled a ‘warrior’. Thereafter, Dewan also welcomed former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and Punjab Congress Affairs In-charge Bhupesh Baghel.
In a one-on-one interaction, Dewan conveyed Baghel that the entire Congress cadre stands firmly behind Warring. “It is writing on the wall that under the leadership of Warring, Congress will secure a landslide victory in the Punjab Assembly elections scheduled for early 2027,” he told Baghel. Dewan further informed Baghel, “Warring is ‘a leader brimming with energy, blessed with astute political acumen, hardworking and relentless in his mission to dethrone AAP and restore Punjab to the path of progress.”
During the meeting, Dewan, former President of the District Congress Committee, Ludhiana (Urban), deliberated with Baghel and Warring, the Ludhiana MP, on a wide range of issues. It also transpired during the meeting that owing to Warring’s consistent performance over the past four years, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge has reaffirmed their faith in Warring’s leadership.
Meanwhile, later speaking to media, Dewan described the interaction as extremely fruitful. He said, “The people are fed up with AAP’s misrule and every Congressman is already battle ready for the upcoming elections. It is only a matter of months before Congress forms the government in Punjab,” he declared. Calling Warring a leader who takes the Opposition head on, Dewan opined, “The entire Congress cadre is with Warring. AAP will face a complete rout in the state elections slated for early 2027.”
On this occasion, Dewan was accompanied by his supporters, including former DCC SBS Nagar president Satvir Singh Palijikki, ex Mayor Patiala Sanjiv Bittu, PPCC coordinator Kasturi Lal Mintu, Inderjeet Kapoor, Rohit Pahwa, Neeraj Birla, Deepak Hans, Baljit Singh Ahuja, Harbhagat Grewal, Varun Sharna and Dharavjit Pooni, who also greeted Baghel and Warring.
