Mp Arora Reviews All Developmental Works With Municipal Corporation Officers

Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora chaired a review meeting with municipal corporation officials, including XENs, SDOs, JEs, and other staff, at Circuit House on Tuesday to assess the progress of ongoing city projects.
Expressing satisfaction with the pace of development, Arora emphasised the need for complete preparedness ahead of the upcoming dengue season. He directed municipal officials to launch city-wide cleanliness drives on a war footing to prevent mosquito breeding. If a shortage of suction machines or manpower arises, he urged officials to procure necessary resources from within or outside the state without hesitation.
Highlighting a major cause of mosquito proliferation, Arora pointed out the nuisance caused by cow dung in municipal wards No. 62, 63, and 64, where a large number of dairies are situated. He instructed officials to implement timely collection and disposal measures to minimise the problem effectively. Additionally, he ordered comprehensive fogging across all city areas and immediate clearance of blocked sewerage lines.
Turning to road infrastructure, Arora stressed the need for urgent repair work on damaged roads. He also emphasised proper street lighting to prevent accidents and recommended installing sufficient reflectors along roadsides to enhance visibility. He urged officials to begin mapping areas requiring new roads.
During the meeting, Arora spoke with the Chief Engineers in Chandigarh, instructing them to clear all pending proposals of MC. He reiterated that no city resident should face inconvenience due to administrative delays.
Reviewing the condition of the city's 300 municipal parks, Arora sought proposals from officials to encourage industrialists to adopt these parks for better maintenance.
With summer approaching, Arora also directed officials to ensure all electric motors at tubewells are operational, preventing water shortages due to equipment failure.
He concluded the meeting by setting mid-April deadline for the completion of all pending civic works at the ground level.
