Eminent Punjabi Poet Dr Ramesh Kumar visits his alma mater SCD Govt College Ludhiana after 53 years. It was really quite nostalgic for him to come to his college from where he did his post graduation in Punjabi in early 1970s. He has been recipient of Haryana’s Punjabi Gaurav Puskar of 2.50 lacs in the year 2015. Haryana’s Punjabi Sahit Academy also conferred him with “Bhaai Santokh Singh Award ” of 1 lacs for the year 2005-06 besides many more to his credit. He is author of 24 books comprising 16 in Punjabi poetry, too exclusively besides some translated and edited books. His poetry book Asehmat has been read widely. He owed this to his Ludhiana college’s teachers who inspired him to write. He too impressed students here to have a flair to write and blossom profoundly in life shedding all fears and narrow-minded sectarian approach. He recited a number of poems to students. Accompanied with him were Brij Bhushan Goyal and Prof Dr P D Gupta alumni of that time. The brief get together was organized by Prof Geetanjli Pabreja In charge Punjabi Department, Prof. Chamkaur Singh Toor and Prof Harjinder Singh. Principal Suman Lata thanked the visiting literary luminary alumni.
