Amritsar, September 3: According to the orders of Municipal Corporation
Commissioner Harpreet Singh, illegal encroachments were removed from
various areas of the city and goods were seized by the Corporation Estate
Department. Estate Officer Dharminderjit Singh and his team removed illegal
encroachments and seized goods from Mall Road Passport Office Area, Income
Tax Chowk, Lawrence Road. Footpaths and roadside stands have also been
removed. On the orders of the Corporation Commissioner, the shopkeepers
selling building materials in the city had already been warned by the estate
department not to keep building materials on the footpaths and roadsides
outside the shops. Shopkeepers should keep their construction materials in
their warehouse. On which the department took action today and seized a
large amount of construction materials in Loharka Road area. A continuous
campaign against those who keep building materials on roads and footpaths
will continue.
