Administration holds "Youth Chaleya Booth" foot march to sensitize young voters

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) General-cum-Additional District Election Officer Major Amit Sareen urged the youth to participate actively in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on June 1. He emphasized the importance of the youth's involvement in the democratic process and encouraged them to exercise their right to vote for a stronger democracy.

Addressing a special awareness program called "Youth Chaleya Booth," which included a foot march to raise awareness among young voters, Major Sareen highlighted that India has a significant young population and it is essential for them to fulfill their responsibility towards the country by taking part in the voting process. He emphasized that the strength and prosperity of democracy depend on the active participation of voters. He particularly called on first-time voters to contribute to shaping the country's future.

Major Sareen underlined that India being the largest democracy in the world, elections are a significant event and every vote holds importance. He urged the youth not only to cast their votes but also to encourage others to do the same, thereby strengthening the democratic process in the country.

The foot march commenced from the District Administrative Complex and concluded at the polling booth set up in Government College for Girls, Bharat Nagar. During the march, Major Sareen administered an oath to the participants to vote on June 1. The march also included a quiz event, and Major Sareen honoured the youths and morning walkers who provided correct answers during the quiz at Rakh Bagh.
