DC urges residents to participate in SIR mapping

Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain on Saturday announced that special camps will be organized at all polling booths across the district on June 7 to facilitate the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) voter mapping process. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be present at their respective booths to assist citizens in verifying their voter ID details and resolving related issues.

Presiding over a review meeting, the Deputy Commissioner stated that the district administration has achieved 74.46 per cent voter mapping under the pre-SIR exercise launched by the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab. Directing all Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) to complete the remaining pre-SIR voter mapping work within the stipulated timeframe, Jain emphasized strict adherence to the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India. He appealed to voters to extend full cooperation to BLOs, who are conducting door-to-door visits as part of the exercise, and to provide the necessary documents to facilitate accurate verification and mapping of electoral records.

The Deputy Commissioner further informed that voters can search for their details in the 2003 electoral roll through the Election Commission of India’s ECINET portal or the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab’s online search facility. For any information, suggestions, or complaints related to the voter verification process, citizens may also contact the Voter Helpline by dialling the toll-free number 1950.
