*ssp Dr. Darpan Ahluwalia, Sdm Swati Tiwana Inspect Counting Centres Ahead Of Municipal Poll Results*

Ahead of the counting of votes for the Municipal Council elections, SSP Khanna Dr. Darpan Ahluwalia visited the counting centres set up at Khanna, Samrala, and Doraha to review security and administrative arrangements. SDM Swati Tiwana was also present with her at the Khanna counting centre.The senior officers inspected the counting centre established at AS Modern Senior Secondary School, Khanna, and issued necessary directions to officials regarding security, access control, surveillance, and smooth conduct of the counting process. Voting for the Municipal Councils of Khanna, Payal, Doraha, and Samrala was held on May 26, while counting will take place on May 29.SSP Dr. Darpan Ahluwalia stated that elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure peaceful, fair, and transparent counting. Around 410 police personnel, along with 2 SP-rank and 9 DSP-rank officers, have been deployed at various locations. Patrolling teams will remain active throughout the process to maintain law and order.The SSP further informed that a 200-metre area around the counting centres has been declared a “No Vehicle Zone.” Entry will be permitted only after identity verification, and only authorised candidates and counting agents will be allowed inside the centres. CCTV cameras have also been installed for round-the-clock monitoring.She warned that strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to spread rumours, create disturbances, or display weapons during the counting process. Social media platforms will also remain under close police surveillance.SDM Swati Tiwana said all arrangements for counting have been completed. Counting in Khanna will be conducted on 14 tables, while two reserve tables have been kept ready for recounting or objections, if required. She also clarified that mobile phones will not be allowed inside the counting centre.The officers appealed to candidates, supporters, and the general public to maintain peace and rely only on official information issued by the Election Commission and authorised sources.
