Cicu Launches Ppcb Regulatory Clearances Helpdesk To Support Industry Compliance

In a significant step towards facilitating industrial growth and regulatory compliance, the Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) has launched a dedicated PPCB Regulatory Clearances Helpdesk at its office in Focal Point, Ludhiana.

The primary objective of establishing this helpdesk is to provide proper guidance to industries on environmental regulatory requirements and assist them in addressing issues related to approvals and clearances from the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB). The initiative is expected to be particularly beneficial for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), many of which face difficulties in understanding environmental norms and regulatory procedures due to lack of awareness and limited access to expert guidance.

Through this helpdesk, industrial units can seek assistance in obtaining NOCs, Consent to Establish (CTE), Consent to Operate (CTO), Hazardous Waste Management (HWM) Authorizations, environmental compliance guidance, and support on various PPCB-related regulatory matters.

To ensure professional and practical assistance, CICU has engaged Er. Sushil Kumar, Retired Assistant Environmental Engineer, PPCB, who brings with him extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and PPCB procedures.

CICU representatives stated that a large number of MSMEs often encounter delays and compliance challenges because they are not fully aware of the applicable environmental requirements. The helpdesk has been created to bridge this gap by providing expert guidance under one roof, thereby helping industries complete regulatory processes smoothly and avoid unnecessary complications.

The helpdesk will function every Wednesday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the CICU Office, Phase-V, Focal Point, Ludhiana. Industrial units are encouraged to utilize this facility and seek expert advice on their PPCB-related concerns.
