Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Chief Spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal recounted the achievements of the Bhagwant Singh Mann government. Dhaliwal said that today Punjab is moving forward on a new path of development under the leadership of Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann. The Mann government is working on a war footing to improve healthcare, education, roads, employment, canal water distribution, industrial promotion, and the advancement of Punjab's agriculture. During the current paddy season, canal water is being delivered to every corner of Punjab and to the fields of every farmer.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday along with AAP leaders Jarnail Singh Dhot, Sarbjot Singh and Gurpratap Singh Sandhu, Dhaliwal referred to the five major guarantees made to the people during the 2022 Assembly elections and said that the Mann government has implemented all these guarantees with complete sincerity.

He stated that the guarantee of free electricity has been continuously fulfilled for the past four and a half years. In the field of healthcare, not only was the guarantee of Mohalla Clinics fulfilled, but the people of Punjab were also provided a free health insurance card worth ₹10 lakh, despite no such promise having been made.

Speaking about the education system, he said that previous governments had completely ruined the infrastructure of schools, which the Mann government has restored over the last four and a half years by providing students with facilities such as boundary walls, classrooms, bathrooms, modern laboratories, books and fans. In addition, for the first time in the history of the country, nearly 68,000 educated youth in Punjab have been given government jobs purely on the basis of merit, without any recommendation or bribery.

Dhaliwal further stated that from July 1, another major guarantee for the mothers and daughters of Punjab is going to be fulfilled. Under this scheme, women from the general category will receive ₹1,000 per month, while women belonging to the Scheduled Caste category will receive ₹1,500 per month. Preparations for the scheme have been completed on a large scale. Dhaliwal congratulated the women of Punjab in advance and expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal for this initiative.

Targeting the opposition, he said that Akali Dal, Congress and BJP are disturbed because they know that once money starts reaching the accounts of women from July 1 onwards, no one in Punjab will pay any attention to the opposition. Attacking the BJP, he said that the party is making every effort to disturb the peace and harmony of Punjab, but the people of Punjab will not allow its intentions to succeed.

At the same time, Dhaliwal strongly objected to the demand made by Congress leaders seeking the resignation of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and reminded Congress of its dark history.

In strong words, Dhaliwal said that those who today sit in press conferences and speak about the supremacy of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Sikh religious code are actually the heirs of Indira Gandhi. It was during this very month in June 1984 that the Congress government demolished Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the highest seat of Sikh faith, using tanks and artillery. Even today, every true Sikh's eyes fill with tears upon seeing images of that tragedy. Instead of condemning the actions of the Congress government at that time, the father of Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa had welcomed Operation Blue Star and congratulated Indira Gandhi. Such people have no moral right to speak about Sikh religious traditions and values.

Challenging the Congress leaders, Dhaliwal said that if they have even a little courage and Punjabi spirit left in them, they should ask Rahul Gandhi to expel Jagdish Tytler, the killer of Sikhs, from the Congress Party. Referring to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in Delhi, he said that the Congress Party, which placed tyres around the necks of thousands of innocent Sikhs and burned them alive, and dishonoured our mothers and sisters, is today preaching to Punjab. He further said that Congress has always betrayed Punjab, whether it was taking Chandigarh away from Punjab, taking away Punjabi-speaking areas, or depriving Punjab of its canal waters. According to him, both Congress and BJP policies have been responsible for these injustices.

Appealing to the people of Punjab, Dhaliwal said that the Congress leaders who are pretending to be united today have neither a vision nor an agenda for Punjab's development. They have come together only out of their lust for power, and the moment they walk out of their press conferences, they will once again start pulling each other down. The people of Punjab, he said, are no longer going to be misled by them and remain firmly committed to the development works being carried out by the Mann government.
