Aap Responsible For Creating Situation For Central Agencies To Act: Warring

May12,2026 | Jagrati Lahar Bureau | Chandigarh

Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today blamed the ruling Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab for creating a situation where central agencies are finding an excuse to intervene.
At the same time, he added, it is difficult to miss the “chronology of events” which perfectly fits into the BJP’s standard pre-poll exercise in election bound states.
Referring to the CBI action against the Punjab Vigilance Bureau, he noted that everyone in Punjab, particularly the opposition parties know how the bureau was misused against them during the last four years.
Blaming the AAP government for the ugly state of affairs in Punjab, he said, “the AAP government in Punjab, remains the most corrupt having crossed all limits and has landed Punjab in such a mess to allow the BJP and its agencies to fish in its troubled waters”.
Reacting to the CBI’s late night raid on the Punjab Vigilance Bureau headquarters, Warring said that, “the Punjab Congress has been the worst victim of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau under the Aam Aadmi Party government”.
“Our senior leaders were falsely implicated, intimidated and victimised by the Vigilance bureau. Cases of some of our leaders were set aside by the Hon Punjab and Haryana High Court, vindicating our stand that they were subjected to vendetta. We have not forgotten. We are not going to forget”, Warring noted.
“Chronology, which BJP always follows, of events unfolding ahead of the elections cannot be missed. First, the agencies target politicians, followed by the bureaucracy and the police with an obvious message to fall in line and do our bidding or face the music”, he said, adding, “yes, there is complete rot in the AAP government in Punjab, which has crossed all limits of corruption. That is the reason, the BJP government at the centre has got an excuse to apply its standard election rule book in Punjab”.
He said, Punjabis really don’t need BJP’s agencies, as they know how to settle the score.
“The AAP, which had formed the government with a promise of ‘badlaav’ (change), has brought Punjab to such a situation that Punjabis will never forgive it for that”, Warring observed.
Reacting to Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar’s statement mentioning Congress leaders by name that they will also be targeted, Warring said, “what we have been saying has been vindicated by the Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar that the target of the central agencies are leaders of all political parties. He specifically named some of us in the Congress. We are ready and we won’t be scared”.
Responding to Jakhar personally naming him, Warring said, “he (Jakhar) has something personal against me and he is free to go to any extent. But let me remind him that I don’t keep anybody’s debt for long, I return it fast with full interest”.
“Our leader Rahul Gandhi Ji has been saying it time and again that you can’t scare the Congress and its leaders and workers. Just to remind you that Rahul Gandhi has said that only the Congress can and will defeat the BJP and nobody else can do it. And that is what we are going to do in Punjab” he asserted.
He observed that the Congress was not sure whether the BJP government at the centre will take the fight against corruption in Punjab to its logical conclusion, but reaffirmed that the Congress will not spare anyone who has looted and robbed Punjab and has intimidated its leaders and workers with false cases.
