The self-respecting people of Punjab will give a befitting reply to BJP’s antics: Anurag Dhanda

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led central government regarding the continuous Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids in Punjab. The party's National Media In-charge, Anurag Dhanda, stated that ED raids on two senior AAP leaders in Punjab within the last three days clearly demonstrate that these are not legal actions but a pre-election political conspiracy. He remarked that this proves the BJP misuses every government machinery to seize power.

Anurag Dhanda pointed out that the back-to-back actions at the residences of Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal and Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora prove the BJP government is using agencies as political weapons. He questioned that if these actions were truly against corruption, then how much money has actually been recovered in the hundreds of ED and CBI raids conducted on AAP leaders so far?

He further noted that the fact remains that no substantial recovery has been made in any major case to date. In most instances, cases collapse in court due to a lack of evidence. Despite this, the continuous raids show that the motive is not justice, but to intimidate and malign the opposition while creating an atmosphere of fear among the public.

Anurag Dhanda emphasized that the public's money is spent on these agencies—the salaries of officials, operations, and investigations are all funded by taxpayers. However, instead of being used for public welfare, these resources are being exploited to further the BJP’s political agenda.

Taking a sharp dig at the BJP, he said their condition in Punjab is so weak that they do not even have strong candidates to contest all 117 seats. To hide this deficiency, they are attempting to suppress the opposition through the ED and CBI.

Anurag Dhanda stated that the pattern is now clear: wherever elections are held, the ED and CBI arrive first. The same script has been repeated in Delhi, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal. Now, an attempt is being made to turn Punjab into the same laboratory.

He questioned, "If this is democracy, then what defines a dictatorship?" He added that the current situation is such that the government is openly misusing investigative agencies to eliminate its opponents while completely evading accountability.

Anurag Dhanda reminded the BJP that Punjab is the land of heroes and people who know how to struggle. The politics of fear and suppression has never succeeded here and never will. He warned that the more the repression, the more forcefully the public will respond.

He concluded by saying that this fight is no longer just about the Aam Aadmi Party; it has become a battle of Democracy vs. Dictatorship. The people of Punjab will give a crushing reply to the BJP in the upcoming elections and send a clear message that politics cannot be run on the crutches of investigative agencies.
