20th Annual Athletic Meet organized at Doaba Group of Colleges
Doaba Business School wins Overall Championship

The 20th Annual Athletic Meet was organized with great enthusiasm and zeal at Doaba Group of Colleges, Campus-1, Mohali. The event was attended by Chairman M.S. Bath, President Dr. H.S. Bath, Managing Vice Chairman S.S.S. Sangha, Administrative Vice Chairman Manjit Singh, along with directors, principals, staff members, and a large number of students from various colleges.
The कार्यक्रम began with an impressive march past, in which NCC and students from different colleges participated. Doaba Institute of Engineering secured the first position in the march past and won the trophy. This was followed by a balloon ceremony and the hoisting of the flag.
On this occasion, Chairman of Youth and Sports Development Board Punjab, Parminder Singh Goldy, attended as the Chief Guest and was honored by Dr. H.S. Bath. In his address, he emphasized that sports are essential for the overall development of youth. He stated that sports instill discipline, teamwork, and a spirit of healthy competition, and also play a significant role in keeping young people away from drugs. He encouraged students to make sports a part of their daily lives.
During the athletic meet, various track events such as 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, and long-distance races were conducted. Field events including long jump, shot put, discus throw, and javelin throw were also organized. Students participated with great enthusiasm and displayed excellent sportsmanship.
Among the key performances, Karanpreet and Rahil excelled in long-distance races, while Shivani Yadav and Swati performed remarkably well in the girls’ category. In field events, athletes like Danish, Meerwaz, and Rozy showcased outstanding performances.
Shivani from Doaba Business School was declared the Best Athlete among girls, while Rahil from Doaba College of Pharmacy was declared the Best Athlete among boys, and both were honored with trophies. Based on overall performance, Doaba Business School won the Overall Championship trophy.
The event was successfully organized under the supervision of Sports Officer Vijay Kumar and concluded with the National Anthem. The meet proved to be a significant platform in promoting sportsmanship and encouraging students towards a healthy and active lifestyle.
