Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 is being observed from 16 to 31 January
Press Information Bureau (PIB), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, is observing Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 from 16th January to 31st January 2026 as part of the Government of India’s continuous efforts towards cleanliness, environmental protection and public awareness.
In this connection, PIB Jalandhar organized a Swachhata Pledge ceremony, in which all employees participated with enthusiasm. The employees took a pledge to maintain cleanliness in their office premises, surrounding areas and residential localities. They also pledged to adopt clean habits in their daily lives and motivate others to do the same.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vikram Singh, Media and Communication Officer, PIB Jalandhar said that cleanliness is not just a one-time activity but a regular habit that everyone should follow. He stated that all PIB employees have pledged to keep their workplace clean and to spread awareness about cleanliness among their family members, friends and society at large. Dr. Vikram Singh further informed that during the coming days of Swachhata Pakhwada, PIB Jalandhar will organize cleanliness and beautification activities in the PIB office premises and nearby localities. These activities aim to create a clean, healthy and pleasant environment for everyone. He also said that employees have pledged to use cloth bags instead of plastic bags while going to markets, thereby promoting a plastic-free and eco-friendly lifestyle.
On this occasion, Dr. Sukdeep Singh, Information Assistant said that cleanliness activities should not be limited to Swachhata Pakhwada alone. He emphasized that PIB Jalandhar employees will continue these cleanliness efforts even after the Pakhwada ends, stressing that a clean environment is essential for good health and a better quality of life. He added that PIB Jalandhar will also utilize social media platforms to spread awareness about Swachhata Pakhwada and the importance of environmental cleanliness among the general public.
