Commission Member Jatinder Singh Shunty conducts surprise visit to civil hospital, interacts with patients

Khanna, March 7

Punjab State Human Rights Commission's Member Jatinder Singh Shunty held an open hearing camp here on Saturday and reiterated that the commission is taking continuous actions to protect human rights across the state.

Shunty also conducted a surprise inspection of the local civil hospital and met the patients. He stated that the commission's main objective is to ensure full protection of the fundamental rights guaranteed to every citizen and to prevent any injustice. He stated that human rights violations will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and strict legal action will be ensured against the guilty.

Shunty mentioned that the commission is also forming 15-member core groups in every district, which will work for the protection of human rights and bring complaints and issues related to the Commission to attention. He said that if human rights are violated anywhere, a written complaint should be submitted to the commission on which action will definitely be taken within two days. He further stated that an advisory has been issued for the welfare of sanitation workers, under which it is mandatory for contractors to provide gloves, clothes, masks, and insurance to sanitation workers. He also informed that emergency pilot ambulances will be deployed in the coming days. Under it, upon dialing 112, the nearest PCR pilot will lead the ambulance in emergency situations so that the patient's life can be saved.

The Member also stated that if human rights are violated anywhere, the written complaint can be submitted via WhatsApp number 9855475547 or on the website https://www.pshrc.net/, on which action will definitely be taken within two days.

The representatives of social service organizations, village panches-sarpanches, and residents from across the district also gave their suggestions during the camp.

Payal Sub-Divisional Magistrate Preetinder Singh and other officers from civil and police administration were also present.
