Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal on Tuesday, directed officials to identify a suitable location within the district administrative complex for establishing a kiosk dedicated to the promotion, display, and sale of products from Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and Self-Help Groups (SHGs), as well as the One District, One Product initiative. Accompanied by ADC (Rural Development) Amarjit Bains and CM Field Officer Kritika Goyal, the Deputy Commissioner explained that the kiosk will be set up under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance program. This project aims to enhance the implementation capacity and outreach of MSMEs by promoting innovation, encouraging new ideas, improving practices and processes, enhancing market access, supporting green initiatives, and increasing guarantees for women-owned micro and small enterprises. He also mentioned that products created by artisans will be included in the kiosk's offerings. Jorwal noted that funds worth Rs 15 lakh will be allocated for establishing the kiosk, which will subsequently be leased to a private operator. He instructed the officials from the Industries and Commerce (I&C) Department to also compile a directory of products offered by MSMEs and SHGs and to hold meetings with these groups regarding the kiosk's launch, ensuring they can utilize this platform for showcasing their products. The Deputy Commissioner directed to do the needful so that work can commence without delay.
