Architect Sanjay Goel from Designex Architects and former Director of Ludhiana Smart City Limited participated in GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) Regional Conclave organised by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India in Chandigarh. The theme of the conclave was "Accelerating Climate Action in The Built Environment".
Architect Sanjay Goel participated in the panel discussion on 'Sustainable Building Material - Decarbonisation in the construction sector'. He said, "Ludhiana and other cities can achieve a sustainable future by balancing infrastructure growth with decarbonization—prioritising compact development, investing in public transport, promoting green buildings, integrating urban green spaces, and embracing renewable energy and smart technologies."
GRIHA Council was represented by Sanjay Seth, Vice President & Chief Executive Officer, GRIHA Council.
Other Panellists were Ar. Anil Kumar Walia - Chairman IIA Panchkula Chapter and former Chief Architect of Haryana, Sidharth Bansal - Director of Magicrete Building Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Ar Chetna Rathee- Assistant Professor from NICMAR University, Sangeeta Bagga-Principal of Chandigarh College of Architecture (CCA), Chandigarh.
Panel was Chaired by Akashdeep - Deputy General Manager & Treasurer of GRIHA Council.
The Theme was explained by Gurharminder Singh- Joint Director of Directorate of Environment & Climate Change, Department of Science, Technology & Environment, Govt. of Punjab - cum- Principal Scientific Officer, Punjab State Biodiversity Board.
Conclave was attended by hundreds of stakeholders including architects, engineers, interior designers, builders, developers, academicians, bureaucrats, colonizers, Govt officials and manufacturers.
