---Punjab Agriculture Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on Monday said that Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had been successfully ensuring hassle-free & seamless procurement and payments to the farmers.
While taking stock of paddy procurement operations in Ludhiana and Samrala grain markets, the Cabinet Minister accompanied by MLAs Madan Lal Bagga, Daljit Singh Grewal, Manvinder Singh Giaspura, Hardeep Singh Mundian, said it was first time in the history of Punjab that paddy arrived in the grain markets was purchased within 12-hours. He said that so far in Punjab, 1,12,46,266 MT paddy had been arrived in Punjab of which 1,09,61,735 MT paddy had already been procured by various agencies which was around 97-percent without any kind of inconvenience to the peasantry. He said that the payments worth Rs 18,660 crores paid to farmers in Punjab.
Dhaliwal said that foremost priority was given to ensuring hassle-free procurement and payments to farmers. The minister also met the farmers, labourers and traders in the mandi to know if they were facing any problems.
