Vet Varsity Scientists Addressed At International Conference In Ireland

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana has added another feather to its cap with Dr. Anju Boora Khatkar and Dr. Sunil Kumar from the College of Dairy and Food Science Technology (CDFST), being invited as Keynote Speakers at International Conference on Ultrasonics Food and Technology 2026 (SonicsFoodTech 2026), held at Teagasc Food Research Centre, Ashtown, Dublin, Republic of Ireland. It is also a matter of significant pride that Dr. Khatkar undertook this engagement as a recipient of the ANRF–International Travel Support (ITS) Award, Government of India.
Dr. Khatkar delivered her keynote, “Ultrasonication-Driven Modification of Food Proteins: Structural Insights and Functional Transformation from Lab to Field,” highlighting the potential of non-thermal technology for developing functional and clean-label food systems. Dr. Kumar, in his keynote, “Unravelling the Potential of Buffalo Milk Protein Concentrate Employing Ultrasonication: Functional and Structural Characterization,” showcased the valorization of buffalo milk and highlighted Punjab’s potential as a future “Buffalo Milk Protein Bowl” of Europe, fostering discussions on Indo-European research collaboration and technology commercialization.
Dr. S.P.S. Ghuman, Dean, CDFST, noted that the invitation of two CDFST faculty members as keynote speakers at Teagasc, with one supported by ANRF–ITS, reflects the quality and impact of research.
Dr. Jatinder Paul Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor of the University, congratulated both faculty members and described the twin keynotes at Teagasc, Ireland, as a proud moment for the university. He emphasized that such international engagements strengthen global research partnerships and advance livestock and dairy innovation for the benefit of farmers and the dairy sector.
