Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, the Congress Lok Sabha candidate for Ludhiana, has been energetically campaigning across different Vidhan Sabha constituencies in Ludhiana. Today, he met with the electorate in the Vidhan Sabha constituencies of Gill, Ludhiana Central, and Atam Nagar. In his addresses to large gatherings at various locations, Warring passionately appealed to the populace to vote for him, emphasizing the critical issues at stake. In his addresses, Raja Warring described the election as a battle for the very existence of Punjab, its farmers and labourers, and the happiness of its people. He warned that if the current central government is not dismantled, the BJP might alter the constitution, jeopardizing the opportunity to vote and retain democracy. He highlighted the Congress partys efforts to protect the constitution and democracy, emphasizing the importance of the INDIA alliance in this struggle. Warring accused the BJP of harbouring animosity towards Punjab, citing the controversial farm laws that led to the deaths of over 700 farmers. He criticized Prime Minister Modis lack of remorse and accused the central government of continuous attacks on Punjabs farmers. He pointed to incidents such as an IPS Sikh officer being derogatorily called Khalistani, reflecting deep disrespect towards the Sikh community. Modis government has conspired to weaken Punjabs economy through these black farm laws, he asserted. Warring condemned the BJP for controlling the media and diverting resources to non-essential projects like the new parliament building instead of critical infrastructure like hospitals. He also criticized the demonetization policy, claiming it failed to curb black money. He highlighted the dramatic increase in national debt from ₹64,00,000 crore to ₹400,00,000 crore under BJP rule and pointed out the surge in prices of essential commodities and the increase in poverty, contrasting this with the growth in wealth of certain industrialists, accusing the BJP of favouring them over farmers. Targeting the AAP government, Warring accused CM Bhagwant Mann of failing to deliver on promises such as ending the drug menace, providing jobs, ensuring MSP for farmers, and improving law and order. He alleged that gang activity has increased and that the AAP government has further increased Punjabs debt. He criticized the AAP government for spending crores of state treasure on advertising false claims and negative propaganda against Congress. Warring recounted the significant achievements of Congress in Punjab, including the construction of the Bhakra Nangal Dam and the establishment of various universities. He emphasized that Congress has been instrumental in building the state from post-independence times, from needles to ships. Highlighting Congress history of fulfilling promises, he mentioned the waiving of ₹72,000 crore in farmer loans, with ₹4,500 crore benefiting Punjabi farmers alone. He also pointed out the increase in old-age pension and the Shagun Scheme, as well as the partys commitment to womens representation in politics with initiatives like the Womens Reservation Bill. Raja Warring urged the people to vote for a just country and to save the democracy of India. Our track record of fulfilling promises and significant initiatives, like farmer loan waivers and MSP, sets us apart. We are the only party that has truly championed the rights and welfare of the people, said Raja Warring.
