In a major boost for the BJP in Punjab, SADs candidate in the 2022 assembly elections from the Dera Baba Nanak and president of SAD Majha youth wing Ravi Karan Kahlon joined BJP in Chandigarh today in the presence of State President BJP Punjab Sunil Jakhar. Kahlon is son of former Vidhan Sabha Speaker Nirmal Singh Kahlon who also remained Minister for Rural Development. Sunil Jakhar, flanked by National Secretary BJP Manjinder Singh Sirsa, State General Secretary BJP Punjab Parminder Brar, and state media head Punjab BJP Vineet Joshi, said the exodus of sorts of leaders from other parties to the saffron fold highlights the palpable undercurrent in favor of the BJP in Punjab. Kahlon also remained chairman of the Punjab Tube-well Corporation. In another jolt to Congress in Ludhiana, Dr Karan Warring ex-Vice Chairman PEDA and ex-OSD to PPCC President Captain Amarinder also joined the BJP. Others who joined with him included Shishpal Goyal, Chairman, Grievance Cell, Ludhiana South, Sandeep Mittal, member Aam Aadmi Party, Ludhiana South, Rishab, member, AAP Youth wing, Ludhiana South, Vivek Kumar member, AAP Youth wing, Ludhiana South and Pramod, member, Aam Aadmi Party, Ludhiana South. On the occasion, Jakhar asked BJP leaders to leave no stone unturned to ensure the victory of the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. BJP is a force to reckon with in Punjab and likely to win a good number of parliamentary seats, he said. Yadwinder Singh Manochahal, Vice President YAD, Parmeet Singh Bedi, President of municipal committee Dera Baba Nanak (DBN), Gurdev Singh ex vice chairman of market committee DBN, Gagandeep Singh general secretary YAD, Jagdeep Singh Rinku Gen. Sec YAD, Baljeet Singh Raju Gen Sec. Amritsar Urban, Nirmal Singh Ratta, Harmanpreet Singh Kalanaur, vice president YAD also joined the BJP.
