Krishna Pran Breast Cancer Care Trust, a city-based NGO, has launched a short film, Meri Dastan on its YouTube Channel on Sunday with an aim to create mass awareness against breast cancer during the ongoing month. The film focusses on BSE (Breast Self-Examination) method for every young woman to timely detect cancer. Giving more details here today, Sanjeev Arora, MP (Rajya Sabha) who runs Krishna Pran Breast Cancer Care Trust in the memory of his parents – Krishna and Pran Arora, said sometimes, little acts of self-care and self-understanding make all the difference. He made an appeal to everyone specially women to watch this short film, which is a compelling tale of resilience and hope. At the same time, he has asked people to become a part of this initiative to raise awareness about Breast Cancer. The short film Meri Dastan introduces people to an extraordinary individual who has demonstrated unwavering courage in confronting breast cancer. Their journey stands as irrefutable proof that its not invincible; its treatable. This short film underscores the significance of hope and awareness. Our mission, undertaken by the Krishan Pran Breast Cancer Care Charitable Trust in loving memory of my parents, is to empower more lives with knowledge and support, said Arora, adding that they are launching this short video in October which is also known as Pink October. It may be mentioned here that Aroras parents had died of cancer after which he constituted the Trust to render selfless services to the Cancer patients. In the month of October every year, Trust organises various activities for creating awareness against cancer specially breast cancer. Trust has so far heled in providing all kind of assistance for the treatment of more than 250 cancer patients. In October last year too, Trust with the support of Femella – a fashion brand, had launched a short film titled Rewind on YouTube with the objective to create awareness against breast cancer. Arora said that awareness against cancer is must because many precious human lives can be saved if the disease is detected well in time. He said Cancer can be treated like any other disease if it is detected at the first stage. He added breast self-examination is the best method for the same. It may be mentioned here that Arora has been doing a lot in the field of healthcare. He is a Member to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare. He is also the vice president of DMCH Managing Society, Ludhiana. Due to his initiative, about one and a half years old Kanav Jangra, a resident of New Delhi was able to get treatment worth Rs.17.50 crore (2.1 million USD).
