On the occasion of the English Language Day and World book day, on April 23,2023, Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School celebrated this eventful day to entertain and inform students about the history, culture and achievements associated with English Language and importance of books. The students of grade 1st to 5th were told about the importance of English language and also about William Shakespeare whose birthday and death day falls on April 23 & who left an indelible impact on English language with his insurmountable contribution to the field of literature, playing the key role in popularizing the language. The students of Grade Pre Nsy to K.G were dressed up as famous authors poets to spread a message of the importance of reading good books. Highlighting the importance of day, the Chairman , Chain of Green Land Schools ,Dr.Rajesh Rudhra said that English is a window on the world as it gives us glimpses of the various developments taking place in the world. It provides us distilled essence of modern knowledge in all fields of human activity. He also told students to inculcate the habit of reading books as it improves focus, memory and communication skills. The Principal, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher said that, -English language not only adds a touch of convenience to communication in general but has been a gate way to art in the form of literature of lots of writers around the globe.
