Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School Celebrates Week Long Guru Nanak Jayanti

Keeping in view the secular ethos , Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School , Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ldh., celebrated and rejoiced in the spirit of the festival Guru Nanak Jayanti through out the week. During the week special assemblies were conducted to mark the occasion and bring home the relevance of the festival to our young generation. The students depicted glimpses of the sacred life lived by Guru Nanak Devji through their speeches and poems.

During week various Inter house competitions as PPT Presentation ,Gurbani Kanth, Sakhi Presentation, Poetry Recitation and Shabad Gayan  were organized. Their well presented Ppt's certainly enlightened the students about the solemnity of the festival. Serenity and calmness floated in the air with the beautiful humming of the shabads and it paved the way for a very fruitful and productive day for all. The festival was celebrated by all the students with great pride, honour and respect.

The Chairman of the chain of Green Land Schools Dr. Rajesh Rudhra congratulated the staff and students on   553 birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji. He told the students that Guru ji is known for his social & spiritual beliefs which were based on love ,equality, fraternity & virtue. He also said that walking on the path shown by Guru Ji is just like walking in light of existence, away from darkness of ignorance.

The school Principal, Mrs Baldeep Pandher,  appreciated the efforts of all participants. She told the gathering that we forever seek God’s blessings for the Green Land fraternity and hope to be on the right and blessed path as chosen by Him. She added that the students through celebrations must have learnt the acts of offering of food for bhakti (devotion) and seva (service).

Inter House Power Point Presentation Competition

Bavneet & Moksh from Kirti House  bagged first prize.

Declamation Contest

Sana Sharma of X Pope    bagged first prize & Ritika Sharma of X Keats   got second prize.

Result of Gurbani Kanth Competition :-

 Divjot Kaur ( VIII Bacon)  bagged first prize, Arshveer Singh ( VIII Keats )  got second prize &  Gursimar Kaur (VIII Chaucer) bagged the third position. Brahmjot Singh ( VIII Keats) got the consolation prize.

Sarthak of IX Keats   bagged first prize &  Nikunj of IX Milton got second prize.

Poetry Recitation Competition
