Green Land Convent School, Civil City, Ludhiana, celebrated Basant Panchami with great enthusiasm on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
The students and teachers paid homage to Goddess Saraswati. Tiny tots from Pre-nursery to KG participated in various activities. They walked on the ramp dressed in beautiful yellow attire.They made beautiful flowers using yellow dal. The students showcased the country's culture with yellow food.
Chairman of chain of Green Land Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, told the students about the history and significance of the day. He said that according to Hindu beliefs, Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge, music, and art, was born on this day. He further said that people celebrate Basant Panchami as Saraswati Puja to attain knowledge and art from Her. He added that this day is very auspicious; people start new work.
Principal of the school, Ms. Ritu Malhotra, addressed the students, saying that the spring season brings happiness for all and that's why everyone celebrates BasantPanchami.She told the students that it is also known as Saraswati Puja in India and is celebrated with great enthusiasm. She further said that Panchami represents the beginning of spring or Basant according to the Hindu calendar.
The program concluded with a prayer to Goddess Saraswati, seeking her blessings for knowledge and wisdom.
