Under Disha : an initiative run and managed by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust celebrated Basant Panchami with great zeal. Innocent Hearts School , Green Model Town, Loharan, Cantt.-Jandiala Road, Noorpur Road, and Kapurthala Road, celebrated Basant Panchami with great enthusiasm and cultural fervor. The festival, marking the onset of spring and dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, was observed through traditional rituals and vibrant activities. The students of Pre - Primary School came in yellow attire and brought yellow dishes for their lunch. They made kites with newspapers . A special assembly was organised ,the celebration began with a Saraswati Puja, where teachers, students, and staff sought the blessings of the Goddess of Wisdom and Knowledge. The assembly was conducted to convey the message of environmental awareness. Students from grades 3 to 8 took a pledge to Say No to harmful Chinese kite threads (Manja) and instead use eco-friendly and safe kite strings. The campus radiated a joyful atmosphere as students and staff dressed in vibrant yellow bows, symbolizing energy and prosperity. Principals of the respective branches addressed the students emphasizing the importance of safe and sustainable kite-flying practices. To further foster creativity and the spirit of the festival, students participated in an art and craft Kite-Making activity, showcasing their spring-themed designs. The event concluded with an inspiring message from the principal, encouraging students to imbibe the values of knowledge, harmony, and environmental responsibility. The celebration was a delightful blend of tradition, creativity, and ecological awareness, making it a memorable and educational event for all.
