High Court admitted writ on rise in minimum wages from backdate, was filed by Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) Ludhiana. Upkar Singh Ahuja, President & Sh. Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary. CICUin a joint statement mentioned thatCICU filed writ on Punjab Governments notification on ST/17065 of 2021 dated 30.11.2021 issued by the Labour Commission, Punjab, in which Punjab has erroneously revised Minimum rates of Wages in the State of Punjab with retrospective effect w.e.f 01.03.2020 to 01.09.2020. The writ has been accepted by the Honble High Court. Further mentioned that Punjab Govt. is well known about the impact of the pandemic on the industry in Punjab and still then Govt. is imposing numerous notification, which is not acceptable by the industry. CICU Legal Team Adv. Raman Gupta & Adv. Shrey Goyal from Emerge Legal (legal Consultants) coordinated the process of writ in Honble High Court and represent the current situation of the industry. They mentioned that Honble High Court clearly taken a view of the case and issued notice regarding stay.
