Ludhiana Postal Division To Undertake Various Activities Under The National Postal Week Celebrations

Move aims at making people active participants in socio economic development of the country Superintendent of Post Offices, Ludhiana Moffusil Division today said that the Department of Posts is going to celebrate National Postal week from 9th October, 2023 to 13th October, 2023 wherein a slew of activities would be held to make people active participants in the socio economic development of the country. Giving more information, the Superintendent of Posts said that National Postal week commences with World Post Day on October 9, every year which is the anniversary of the establishment of Universal Postal Union on October 9, 187 and this years theme for the World Post Day is Together for Trust. The SPOs Ludhiana further informed that various activities has been planned by Ludhiana Moffusil Postal Division throughout the National Postal Week. The October 10, 2023 will be celebrated as Vittiya Sashaktikaran Diwas and on this day Dak Choupal (Dak Community Development Program) will be organized by Ludhiana Moffusil Postal Division, he said adding that Dak Choupal is a comprehensive community program through which different Postal Services will be provided to the Public in a single camp. He further mentioned that In the Dak Choupal, public will be facilitated for opening Saving Bank Accounts, Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts, Mahila Samman Certificates, procuring Postal Life Insurance policies and for Aadhar Enrolment and Updation. He mentioned that the all these facilities and services will be provided under one umbrella in a rural/remote area. Likewise, October 11, will be celebrated as Philately Day and seminars & quiz activities will be organized at schools on the theme Digital India for New India. One October 12, 2023 the celebrations will be held as Mails & Parcel Day. Customer Meets for Bulk & Retail customers will be organized in bigger post offices. Customers will be informed about the new initiatives taken under various Parcel & Mail services of the Department. They will be apprised of various facilities of Parcel Tracker for bulk customers viz. End to End tracking, Expected date of delivery, Return Pick up, COD facility, Click and book service, OTP based delivery etc. The October 13 will be celebrated as Antyodaya Diwas. Awareness camps will be organized in rural/remote areas & also in urban slums for Aadhaar enrollment & updation. People will also be made aware about various Social Security Schemes like Jan Suraksha Schemes, Aadhaar Enabled Payment Service, Social Security Pension, Direct Benefit Transfer etc. The SPO Ludhiana(M) also intimated that Ludhiana Moffusil Postal Division was continuously taking various steps for making its mark in the socio-economic development of the country. Attractive packaging facilities for national & international articles have been provided in many Post Offices of Ludhiana Moffusil Postal Division as per Public demand. He also informed that as many as 26 Aadhaar Centers have been set up in Ludhiana Moffusil Postal Division for Aadhaar enrolment and updation related services. He further stated that during the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in August, 2023 Ludhiana(M) Division distributed 17024 flags in Punjab and Chandigarh. SPOs Ludhiana( M) said that in this modern era, postal facilities are not limited to mail services but India Post is touching each & every aspect of the citizens lives. He also urged the people to participate in huge numbers to make these events a mega success in the division.
