OFFICIALS TAKE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE CONSTITUTION
ALSO PAY FLORAL TRIBUTES TO DR BR AMBEDKAR BY GARLANDING HIS STATUE IN DAC
The Punjab government celebrated “Constitution Day” today and on this occasion, a district-level function was organised by District Administration at Bachat Bhawan, here.
This function was presided over by ADC (General) Rahul Chaba. Several SDMs, Tehsildar’s and District Administration officials were also present on the occasion.
While addressing the gathering on the occasion, he said that Constitution Day is celebrated in India on 26 November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26 January 1950. He appealed to the participants to pledge allegiance to the constitution of India and contribute in nation building.
Later, they also paid floral tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar by garlanding his statue situated in District Administrative Complex, here.
