Patriotic zeal and fervour marked the Republic Day celebrations at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. The celebrations began with the ceremonial Flag hoisting by the Chairman of the Chain of Green Land Schools Dr. Rajesh Rudhra , General Secretary , Mrs. Usha Rudhra , Dr. Shabad Rudhra President , Dr. Vijayata Rudhra and Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher. There upon, guard of honour was given by N.C.C Cadets of Green Land School under 3 Punjab Battalion Patriotic songs and dances kindled the spirit of nationalism and patriotism. The students paid homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of the Nation .
On the occasion of Basant Panchami the students of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana, welcomed the Spring Season with great enthusiasm. The students worshipped Goddess Saraswati & Lord Brahma to whom the festival of spring is dedicated. The Principal of the school, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher told about the significance of yellow colour on this day & dedication of this day to the Goddess of learning. She felicitated the students on the occasion. The staff and the students paid obeisance to Goddess Saraswati and chanted ‘Saraswati Mantra’. Junior students dressed up as flowers danced to the tunes of Basant songs and relished yellow dishes.
The Chairman of the Chain of Green Land schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra said that we got our freedom after thousands of sacrifices over the period of many hundred years. Republic Day is a National festival which is celebrated by people of all religions. Giving Tricolor the regard of God, he said that we should be proud of singing our National Anthem ‘Jan Gan Mann’ and ‘Vande Mataram’. Recalling the sacrifices of freedom fighters in hands of Britishers, he said that they took pride in sacrificing their lives for the Nation. Giving moral message to the students he said that it depends on our determination to stay away from vices like bribery and drug abuse. A Country becomes great if the youth remains morally sound.
The Principal Mrs. Baldeep Pandher implored the students to promote peace and brotherhood to make this country a paradise. The students took a pledge that they will always stand by their country during the times of need and create a beautiful India free from corruption, crime and social vices.
