Various events are organized at many hospitals.
- every year on 31st May World Health organization (WHO) celebrates world No Tobacco Day since 1988 to spread awareness about the harms of tobacco use. IMA (Indian Medical Association), Ludhiana observed in this day by taking out an 'Awareness Rally' at Rose garden early this morning president Dr Gaurav Sachdeva, Secretary Dr Neeraj Aggarwal, President elect 2024 Dr Pritpal Singh, Dr Arun Gupta, Dr I S Bagga, Dr Karamvir Goyal, Dr Kulwant Singh, Dr Vineet Gulati, Dr Sachin Gupta, Dr Raman Sikka, Dr Dhiren Bassi and many more joined the rally with banners and placards spreading the message to quit smoking. The Theme for 2023 is ' We need food, Not tobacco' which aims to raise awareness about alternative crop production for Tobacco farmers.
And encourage them to grow nutrition crops.
Many NGOs like CityNeeds, PAAS Foundation, Marshall Aid, Udaan, Raasta Nayi Duniya ki Ore and many hospitals like Arora Neuro Centre, Deepak Heart Hospital, Eva Hospital and many others also observed this day by keeping educational activities.
Dr Kulwant Singh, Dr Gaurav Sachdeva, Dr O P Arora, Dr Neharika Arora, Dr Tanveer Bhutani, Dr Sanjay Yadav and others gave lacture on Ill effects of Tobacco.
