For the first time in India, Indian doctor Dr Inderjit Singh Medical Suptt of Dr Kotnis Acupuncture Hospital and Education centre, Ludhiana has been elected as executive member in international organizing association of acupuncture and moxibustion.
The organization name is World Federation of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Societies (WFAS) an official body by World Health Organisation (WHO). The election process was completed and guided by WHO in the Ninth General Assembly of WFAS held at Singapore.
The election was presided by the President Prof. Dr LIU BAOYAN, and said WHO has developed WFAS for an international perspective and international development of acupuncture. The aim of this organization is to promote Traditional Medicine strategy for good health and well being, which can be achieved to fulfill target by year 2023-2024.
In the election process the representatives from 134 countries participated in the assembly and voted for further development of acupuncture in the world. From each country a dedicated representative was elected.
From India Dr Inderjit Singh has been elected for this working assembly (2023-2026). Dr Singh is one of founder of acupuncture system of medicine in India He introduced acupuncture in the year 1975 and presently chair as Director of Dr Kotnis Acupuncture Hospital Ludhiana.
