Poetry Recitation at Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School was organised to sensitize students about environment.
A special assembly was organized for the students of class IX-XII where students took pledge to safe guard their mother earth . They were also enlightened about the importance of afforestation and planting of trees .
Poetry recitation competition was organized for the students of class VI where students recited poems on various topics like Stop Pollution, Save the Rainforest, Celebrate Earth Day Every Day, Start Using Solar Energy etc.
Also on the day, slogan writing activity was also organized for the students of class VI-VIII. Students presented their artistic skills through their beautiful presentations.
The Chairman of the Chain of Green Land Schools Dr. Rajesh Rudhra said that the motive behind observing Earth day in school is to imbibe in students the values of conservation, respect for nature, to be mindful of disposing the waste and encourage them to reduce, reuse and recycle.
The Principal of the school Ms Baldeep Pandher told the students to always do their every bit to keep the Mother Earth free from pollution. The onus of keeping Earth healthy, safe and green lies on our shoulders and we must fulfil our responsibilities the good way.
The result of Poetry recitation competition is as follows-
First prize was bagged by Nidhi Kalsi of VI Milton, Second prize was won by Har Uday Singh of VI Keats , Third prize winners were Yuvika of VI Chaucer & Aroz of VI Bacon. The consolation prize was won by Vedansh Gupta of VI Keats.
