There is no change in the status of the mixed land use area in the Map of Master Plan of Ludhiana
from 2007 to 2021 to 2007 to 2031. But the government hiding the facts from the Industries.
In the Master Plan Map 2031, issued by GLADA & Town & Country Planning there is no change in
the status of Mix Land Use areas since 2007.The mix land use areas are clearly demarcated with the
violet color and are as same as the master plan of 2007-2021.
It is clearly mentioned in the Map that “the period of operation of Master Plan Ludhiana has
been extended from 2007-2021 to 2007-2031 as decided in the regional and town planning
and development boards 29th meeting”
In a notification, Number DTP (L) 11/2017 issued by Chief Town Planner of Punjab under section
70 (5) of Punjab Regional & Town Planning Act “The Chief Town Planner of Punjab converted the
status of 36 colonies on the back side of Janta Nagar and Shimla Puri (on the Bank of Sidhwan
Canal) from Industrial areas to Industrial Mix and areas. The Chief Town Planner changed the
status of Giaspura, Daba and Lohara from Industrial area to Mixed Industrial Zones. It is mentioned
there that status of these Mix Industrial areas will continue till 2031.
It is really shocking that if the Government has already extended the master plan of 2007 to 2021 to
2007 to 2031 than how they can ask the industries in mix land use areas to evacuate these areas.
It has also been brought to the knowledge of organization that few Real Estate tycoons are forcing
the government to shift these industries for their vested interests.
More than 40000 Industries are situation in mix land use areas only in Ludhiana. The last focal
point was created by the government in 1998. Most of these industries were established in the last
century. The PSPCL even gave the new industrial power connections to new industries up to
November 2022. Now the PSIEC is only developing the industrial areas for big investors so there is
no scope of shifting of these industries.
ALL INDUSTRIES & TRADE FORUM has written to the Chief Minister to immediately clarify the
status of these areas as shown in Master Plan 2031 of Ludhiana.
