Sacred Heart Sr. Sec. School B.R.S Nagar Ludhiana celebrated its Annual SportsDay with great zeal, enthusiasm and fervour.The illustrious guests of the day,Rev Father John,director of the school and Rev. Sr. Silvi, principal of the school were accorded a warm welcome resonating with the exhilarating rhythm of school band followed by Guard of Honour.The Big day initiated with the Prayer Dance seeking blessings of the Almighty. The Sports day was declared open by the esteemed guests along with hoisting of flag, releasing of balloonsfollowed by lighting of torch by the National and the State level sports achievers.It was a carnival that showcased the spectacular display of synchronized March Past by the NCC cadets and students of all four houses. The Oath taking ceremony was conducted by Sports Captains Jashanpreet Singh and Khushi Mehra.The meet was marked by a wide array of track events by the children of Secondary and Senior Secondary wing. The thrill, vigour and zest were writ large on the faces of participants. Besides the sports events Theme Dancemesmerized the audience.Rev Father John, in his address conveyed that promotion of sports activities in school not only helps in physical fitness of students but also creates a competitive spirit among them. It helps in building confidence and inculcating team spirit among students. The closing ceremony and felicitation of winners was done by S.Sukhdev Singh Pannu.Dronacharaya Awardee, National coach of Jumps, Indian Athletic team.Rev. Fr. John, the Director of the School, in his message, appreciated the zeal of the athletes and congratulated the Principal, Sports Department, staff members and students for their perseverance, outstanding performance and contribution in making this Mega Event a grand success. The overall championship trophy was bagged by Nehru House, 1stRunners up title was lifted by Gandhi House and 2nd Runners up by Shastri House.Vaibhav Kapoor(NehruHouse)Sub-Junior Boys, and Japnitya Panesar (NehruHouse) Sub–Junior Girls,Armaan Arora(Gandhi-House)Junior Boys,Hazel Budhiraja(Nehru House) Junior Girls, Chashmeet Singh(XII-A)Senior Boys, and Albina Tuti (XII-F)Senior Girls were declared the best athletes of the year.The Annual Sports Day concluded with the Vote of Thanks and National Anthem.
