Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council and IKGPTU ink Memorandum of Understanding

Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar to serve as a knowledge partner and extend domain knowledge expertise while contributing to the skill sets of their students and society at large with specific focus on the skill development & training for the beauty wellness sector. The MoU was signed on Monday by Monica Bahl, CEO (B&WSSC) and Prof. (Dr.) Ajay K. Sharma, Vice-Chancellor (IGPTU), in presence of Dr. S. S. Walia, Registrar (IGPTU). Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council (B&WSSC) is a non-profit organization, promoted by National Skill Development Corporation under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship with an aim to focus on establishing an effective and efficient eco-system for development and imparting of skills for Beauty and Wellness industry. Working together under this MoU, both shall carry out joint activities including – conducting the programmes, developing curriculum, conducting research, developing study material and e-learning, acquiring students and trainers, train the trainers, certification, developing training facilities, organising placements, internships, apprenticeship, on job training and industry visits in collaboration with their associates and partners. B&WSSC will provide IKGPTU the necessary support in form of content designing, formulating training manuals and assessment standards for developing NSQF compliant programmes at all levels. B&WSSC will also help IKGPTU to set up beauty and wellness specific and other relevant training facilities at different locations and support the training programmes under government schemes including schemes of National Skill Development Corporation, Skill India, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra & others allowing students a vertical mobility into degree programmes. B&WSSC will recommend IKGPTU to its associates for any activity such as – research projects, corporate training programmes, online and distance programmes or management development programmes. Monica Bahl, CEO (B&WSSC) said, “The aim is to provide skilling, giving career progression and create an environment of higher employability for our young and deserving talent of the country.”
