In order to curb the Covid-19 spread in the district, the District administration and Civil Surgeon Office took a noteworthy initiative under Punjab Govt's esteemed campagin named Mission Fateh. Mass Education and Media Wing of the Health Department has been entrusted with the responsibility of this Covid-19 awareness campaign. In this awareness drive the team went to different markets of city where they visited sweet shops, refreshment shops, spare part shops,hotels, restaurants, dhabas and banquet hallswhere the owners and their workers were apprised about the precautionary measures to be adopted in view of corona pandemic. Civil surgeon,Ludhiana Dr.Rajesh Bagga said, Our motto is to aware more and more people about Mission Fateh and also to tackle the false rumors being spreaded among the people. This mission has three main components: Wearing mask is mandatory , frequent hand wash and Social distancing. The thrust of this mission is definitely awareness as by getting aware about the precautionary measures we can save ourselves from this disease. Hotel and Restaurants owners were also made aware about the advisory issued by the health department which stipulates them not to cater to more than 50% of their seating capacity or 50 persons which ever is less and to close their establishments by 8:00 PM . Marriage,other social functions and 'Open- Air' parties in Banquest halls,Marriage palaces, Hotels and open venues can be organised upto 30 persons. The number of guests exclusive of catering staff would not exceed 30 persons. The size of Banquet hall and Venue for 30 persons shall at least 3,000 sq. feet based on requirement of 10 sq. feet for the purpose of maintenance of adequate social distancing. Dr Bagga added that along with the awarness about corona, the people also should be attentive to not believe in the false rumors. He said, Block Extenstion Educators (BEE) of Mass Media and Information Wing of Health department has been given the responsibility of the whole district to spread awarness. He said, teams have been made of DMEIOs and BEEs which have already started working in the district for the program, and he also appealed the people to cooprate with the authorities and follow guidelines to keep oneself and family safe during the adverse situation, Dr Bagga added. Rules worth noting -For resaturants, hotels and other hospitality units: Allowed 'dine-in' till 8 PM with 50% occupancy or 50 guests, whichever is less. -For marriages, social functions and 'Open Air' parties: Total of 30 persons are allowed, exclusive of catering staff. -The size of banquet hall and venue for30 persons shall be atleast 3000 sq. feet.
